How To: Remove Your Reusable Press-On Nails

Removal of Press-on Nails

Recommended Nail Removal Prep (Optional)

Apply a generous amount of cuticle oil around your nails prior to soaking your fingers. This is optional, but applying additional cuticle oil directly around the edges of your natural nails will help to soften the adhesives. Here is an example of cuticle oil: Cuccio Naturale Cuticle Oil - Revitalizing & Hydrating (I am not affiliated with Amazon or Cuccio, please do your own research regarding any allergies and appropriate product usage.)

Step 1 – Soak Nails in Hot Water, Mild Liquid Soap, and Cuticle Oil

Combine hot water with mild liquid soap and several drops of cuticle oil in a bowl deep enough to fully submerge your fingers. Soak your nails for 10-15 minutes, or until your press-on nails have begun to separate from your natural nail beds.

Step 2 – Remove the Reusable Press-On Nails

Use the cuticle tool, specifically the “orange” stick, to gently lift the edges of the press-on nail away from your natural nail. It may be helpful to add additional cuticle oil around the edges of your nails during this step as well.

Important:

To preserve the integrity of your natural nail, do not use force to remove the press-on nails from your nail beds. If they are not easily removable from your natural nails, continue to soak your fingers for more time until natural separation begins to occur.

Step 3 – Remove the Remaining Adhesive and Cleanse for Storage

Use the orange stick to remove any remaining adhesive from your natural nails and/or the press-on nails. Simply gently roll the stick and lift off any remaining adhesives. If any harden liquid glue remains on the press-on nails, you may want to use a file or buffer on the underside of the nail to lightly file down any bumps or ridges for future use.

Gently wash your press-on nails with mild soap to remove any possible debris or oil prior to storage. A soft nail brush is perfect for this task.

Step 4 – Store your Reusable Press-On Nails

We recommend placing your press-on nails back in the original packaging for storage until future use. Please keep out of reach of children and/or pets.

Note:

Other removal methods, such as nail glue remover, can be purchased from Amazon or other nail care stores.  Here is an example that I have used:  Makartt Nail Glue Remover (I am not affiliated with Amazon or Makartt, please do your own research regarding any allergies and appropriate product usage.)

It is also possible to soak off press-on nails with acetone. However, the press-on nails will no longer be reusable after removal. Also, keep in mind that acetone can be irritating to skin and caution should be used when handling. I do not recommend this method.
